Goodbye to our 19/20 Student Officer team!
Today we’re saying goodbye to our current Student Officer team, who leave us after their terms in office. We asked Julia, your President, and Mollie, your VP Activities, what their highlights of working on behalf of LJMU students have been.
Julia leaves us after SIX years of working with us in various roles, and finally leading the organisation as President. When asked about her highlights, Julia said, “Some of my highlights include working with the SU staff team and getting so much done, and sometimes in a short time. As someone who likes to plan activity, I’ve been able to adjust to working with so many people and so quickly!
"Another highlight is showing the university what we deliver for students. A key example is the SU Update that goes to the university throughout the year, which has gone from one page to six pages, showing how much we've grown and everything that we do for LJMU students. Having a strong staff team behind us as Officers, makes everything come to light and shows how much more we’re doing for our students.”
Mollie, your VP Activities, told us, “My highlights of the role definitely start with how much I’ve grown both personally and professionally since day one of starting in the role. I’ve gone from not speaking in a meeting, or asking someone to speak on my behalf, to being able to confidently speak in front of an audience.
“I’m also incredibly proud of how everyone in the LJMU community has adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve still delivered so much for students at LJMU, and although we’ve had to change things or do them virtually, we’ve always had our students’ best interests at heart.”

Lila, your VP Academic Quality and Megan, your VP Community & Wellbeing, have both been re-elected to the roles of President and VP Community & Wellbeing respectively, with Tuba joining us as VP Academic Quality and Emily joining us as VP Activities.
