Launch our Wellbeing Action Plan

Saturday 10-10-2020 - 22:37

Looking after our physical and mental health is more important than ever, so we wanted to show all our members what we are doing to put wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do. It is designed to be in place for the next three academic years, after which it will be reviewed to fit in-line with our new strategy, and ensure it is relevant to our current members.

We have made this plan SMART, so that we can be held to account and measure our progress in the most effective way. This plan is sufficiently resourced, with accountable leads for each action point.  However we are aware that our work around wellbeing is broad – that’s why we have a dedicated ‘Year One Action Plan’ which details our specific goals for the academic year 20/21, and is essentially an expansion of the ‘timescale’ column in this plan. LJMU students can feel free to ask any questions, so for more information please email our Student Development Coordinator (Community and Wellbeing) on c.a.hare@ljmu.ac.uk.

The ‘Strategy Link’ column refers to a draft of the LJMU Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which is yet to be published and is therefore due to change; though our actions will remain the same. We consistently work closely with LJMU, and wellbeing is no exception – this plan will involve a lot of work with Student Advice and Wellbeing, library services, the EDI team, and more. However as with everything at JMSU, our work around mental health and wellbeing will be student-led wherever possible.

We are hoping that the Covid-19 pandemic will not affect the delivery of this plan, though it is obviously something we need to bear in mind when looking at timescales due to the lack of face-to-face events.
