JMSU Student Trustees

Trustees are essential to the wellbeing and effectiveness of JMSU. As a Trustee you will shape the direction and operations of the students' union as a charity. You will gain vital skills in organisaitonal governance, decision making, communication and negotiating skills. You will provide an important perspective based on your experience as a student.

To find out more about the trustee roles available, please download the recruitment pack, application form and equality monitoring form.

JMSU Student Reps

JMSU is a student rights organisation, and we know that we work best when students lead us and make decisions about the things that affect them. One of the main ways that we do this is through our Student Reps. Alongside our four, full time and paid Student Officers, we have a number of voluntary Student Rep positions, filled by current LJMU students. These roles are perfect for gaining experience and developing your employability skillset.

The roles available are:

Academic Interest Reps

Course Reps

Equality Reps

JMSU Student Rights Advocates

A key way that we support students and create change is through our Advice Service. As part of this, we recruit student volunteers to be our Student Rights Advocates to help carry out our work in these areas. These roles are a great way to gain experience and build your employability skillset - if you think it's something you'd be good at, please get in contact

Volunteer in Liverpool

Liverpool is a vibrant city with plenty of opportunities to volunteer! As well as our course rep scheme, we welcome volunteers for:

  • The Kensington Gardening Project – join us every other Saturday morning as we spruce up the flower beds at Kensington Fields Community Association, planting vegetables, herbs and flowers! For information on timings and how to get involved, contact our Events and Engagement Manager on c.a.hare@ljmu.ac.uk.
  • Street Pastors – a scheme that has been running for fifteen years, Liverpool’s street pastors help vulnerable people in the night-time economy by giving advice, blankets and bottles of water. For more information and how to apply, click here.
