I'm Howisha, your Vice President Community Engagement and I am the elected officer responsible for this area.
Here at LiverpoolSU, we want to make sure that everyone feels happy, safe and comfortable where they live. We want to help you settle in and get the best out of your new home in Liverpool. To help us do that, we employ Outreach Reps in each of the main areas of the city occupied by our students - Smithdown, Kensington and the City Centre.
The Outreach Team are a link to the Students' Union and you can chat to them about any concerns or worries. They can signpost you to support services or even just help you get more involved in student life. They're also on hand to ensure that you get the most from your time in the city and will talk to you about any projects, campaigns and other issues being run by LiverpoolSU, encouraging you to get involved and raising awareness of your Students' Union.
Your accommodation plays a major part in your experience as a student in Liverpool, whether you live in Halls or elsewhere. We work with accommodation providers to improve standards and ensure your needs are met.
The Student Officer wtihin the Community department is Howisha Charlery, Vice President Community Engagement. Howisha is one of four Student Officers elected each year to lead the organisation. Examples of Howisha's remit in her role for the 17/18 academic year include improving safety for students across the city, improving accommodation for students and developing support for students most vulnerable at LJMU.
