Furthermore, there's plenty to see and do without breaking the bank as a student. From iconic landmarks to cultural experiences, here's a guide to some of the best free things to do in Liverpool.

1. Wander on the Waterfront

Liverpool's waterfront is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it's easy to see why. The unforgettable Albert Dock, with its historic architecture and vibrant atmosphere, is perfect for a leisurely stroll. Here, you can admire the stunning views of the River Mersey, the Royal Liver Building, and the Museum of Liverpool. The latter offers free entry and provides fascinating insights into the city's history, culture, and maritime heritage. Enjoy the array of independent bars, cafes, and restaurants at the Albert Docks - you won’t be disappointed.

2. Stroll Through Sefton Park

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city at Sefton Park, a beautiful green space perfect for a relaxing day out. The park features a large lake, charming bandstand, and the iconic Palm House, a stunning Victorian glasshouse that hosts free events and exhibitions. LJMU proudly hosts their graduations at this iconic location, so make sure you get a photo outside of the Anglican when you get here: you can recreate the photo at your graduation ceremony when the time comes!

Liverpool is the birthplace of The Beatles, and the city celebrates its musical heritage with pride. Start your journey at the iconic Cavern Club, where the legendary band played their early gigs. Although there's a small fee to enter the club, you can still soak in the atmosphere by walking down Mathew Street and exploring the Beatles statues and murals. Don't miss the free Beatles statue at Pier Head, offering a great photo opportunity with the Fab Four.
