Free Period Products at LJMU: What EGAL Means for You
At JMSU, we’re proud to support Liverpool John Moores University’s Menstruation Matters work and the EGAL scheme, helping ensure every student has free, easy and dignified access to period products whenever they need them.
What is EGAL?
EGAL is LJMU’s commitment to tackling period poverty and making sure no student is ever left without essential period products.
All products are free, inclusive and available across campus, with no questions asked.
Why it matters
Periods shouldn’t be stressful or expensive.
EGAL helps remove barriers by supporting students who may struggle with the cost of period products, feel embarrassed asking for them, or get caught out unexpectedly.
By doing this, the scheme supports student wellbeing, confidence, dignity and academic focus, while helping to create a campus culture free from stigma.
Where to find free period products
Free pads and tampons are available across LJMU, including:
- libraries
- student toilets
- student hubs
- common rooms
- selected reception areas
They’re there when you need them, with no forms and no awkward conversations.
