At JMSU, your mental health and wellbeing matter. While some services focus on specific areas, many support options overlap. Our Mental Health & Wellbeing support helps you navigate student life by connecting you with trusted guidance and professional services when needed. We provide a safe space to talk and access resources, but do not offer personal advice. Instead, we can direct you to the right support and help you find the guidance you need to thrive, both inside and outside the classroom. If you’re unsure where to start, get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Our friendly student buddies help new students settle in, make connections, and feel at home at university. Starting university can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go it alone! Learn more on our Buddy Scheme page.
LJMU has a dedicated Disability Advice Team to ensure all students get the support they need. Check out the website for guidance and resources.
We prioritise student safety and wellbeing. Our policy covers drug and alcohol usage, and there are multiple support channels if you feel impacted by substance use or suspect spiking. Explore support through JMSU Advice, LJMU SAW services, and trusted external organisations.
Contact our advice team for mental health support and guidance. We’re here to chat about concerns and point you in the right direction.
The Wellbeing Advisors guide students through university-related challenges and mental health concerns. They provide self-help resources and wellbeing journals to track contacts and services.
LJMU’s SAW offers comprehensive support, from Wellbeing Week events to financial, bereavement, and disability guidance. JMSU collaborates closely to ensure students have access to these services.
The Mental Health Advisory Team provides one-to-one support with registered professionals for students facing mental health challenges.
