On 31st March 2025, six committee members from Moore Student Radio travelled to Salford to attend the prestigious Student Radio Association (SRA) Conference, marking the station's first-ever appearance at the event.

The three-day conference, which took place from March 29th to March 31st, featured talks from industry professionals such as Radio 1's Jack Saunders and Virgin Radio's Dick and Dom. With Moore Student Radio being just one year old, the team was eager to learn from the experts and improve their station for the upcoming academic year.

Following two days of insightful sessions, the conference culminated in the Amplify Awards ceremony held at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester. The awards, supported by Global, recognised the most outstanding achievements in student radio across the UK.

Moore Student Radio had been nominated for two categories: Most Improved Station and Most Supportive University or Students' Union. The station's team was thrilled to be shortlisted in both categories, but the evening's highlight came when they were announced as the Gold Award winners for Most Supportive University or Students' Union - a major achievement in their debut year.

"This is an incredible achievement for us, especially in our first year," said Station Manager Zoë Woodward. "I'm so glad we've been able to give John Moores Students' Union (JMSU) the recognition it deserves. They do so much for us behind the scenes, and this award is a testament to our amazing partnership."

Deputy Station Manager Jack Bostock also expressed pride in the team's accomplishment: "It's an incredible honour to win this award. It's a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and passion that both Moore Student Radio and JMSU have poured into this project. This is proof that when we work together, we can achieve great things."

The success of the evening also highlights the strong collaboration between Moore Student Radio, John Moores Students' Union (JMSU), and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). With ongoing support, the future of Moore Student Radio looks bright as they continue to grow and expand their influence.

Looking ahead, the station is excited for the next opportunity to showcase their progress at the upcoming SRA Awards in November.
