Sports ball 2026

On a Wednesday 22nd April, 750 members of Team LJMU swapped their kits for black tie and ball gowns as they headed to Anfield Stadium for one of the biggest nights in the sporting calendar - Sports Ball 2026.

The iconic venue set the scene for an unforgettable celebration of the dedication, resilience, and success shown by our sports teams throughout the year. From early morning training sessions to match-day victories, and inspiring teamwork to dedication to important causes, the evening was all about recognising the commitment that defines Team LJMU.

The night began with food and drinks, and then attention turned to the awards ceremony - the highlight of the evening. A range of awards were presented to teams and individuals who have gone above and beyond this year, showcasing excellence both on and off the field. Each award reflected the hard work, sportsmanship, and passion that runs through every corner of Team LJMU.

Once the awards had been announced and celebrations were in full swing, the evening continued in style as the dance floor opened.
