The Paramedic Society is a dynamic student-led community at LJMU that brings together

those passionate about pre-hospital care and paramedicine. We are dedicated to supporting students through educational, professional, and social opportunities designed to develop outstanding clinicians and compassionate healthcare providers. Beyond the classroom and clinical placements, our society provides a welcoming environment where members can grow their skills, engage with expert speakers, participate in charitable outreach, and build lasting friendships with fellow paramedic enthusiasts.

About Us

Welcome to the LJMU Paramedic Society, proud winners of the JMSU Best Academic Society Award 2024. Run by students for students, our society focuses on fostering academic excellence, professional growth, and personal wellbeing for anyone interested in pre-hospital emergency care. Our committee, made up of Level 5 and Level 6 students, works tirelessly to provide a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions led by subject experts, equipping members with knowledge and skills to excel in their clinical practice. We also prioritise the wellbeing of our members through dedicated wellbeing officers who offer mental health support and resources. Alongside education, we create a vibrant social atmosphere through a variety of events—from sober socials and nights out to exciting trips—helping members unwind, connect, and build a strong community. Our partnerships with local charities and outreach programmes allow us to give back to the wider community by teaching vital skills and raising awareness about paramedicine and healthcare.

Key Information

The Paramedic Society meets regularly throughout the academic year to deliver a diverse calendar of activities including CPD workshops, guest lectures, charity fundraisers, and social events. Membership is open to all who share an interest in paramedic science and pre-hospital care, with a yearly fee of £7.50 granting full access to our educational sessions, social activities, and subsidised merchandise like hoodies and quarter-zips. To keep everyone connected, we maintain active social media channels (@LJMUParasoc) and have a dedicated wellbeing team (@Parasocwellbeing) providing continuous support. Whether you want to learn from leading professionals, get involved in community outreach, or simply enjoy time with like-minded peers, the Paramedic Society offers something for everyone.

Why Us?

Joining the Paramedic Society means becoming part of an award-winning academic community committed to your development as a future healthcare professional. Beyond campus, our charity work and outreach programmes offer meaningful opportunities to give back and promote paramedicine in the wider community.
