We’re excited to announce that JMSU is now partnering with BUCS on the Emerging Club Leaders programme. It’s brilliant opportunity for LJMU students to gain real-world experience in football beyond the pitch.
This national initiative is designed to make volunteering in football a viable and rewarding development pathway for students interested in sports, media, operations, and community engagement.
⚽ What is the Emerging Club Leaders Programme?
The programme offers students the chance to take on a placement at a National League System (Step 2–6) or Women’s National League (Tier 3–4) club in one of six key roles:
These roles give students the chance to put their degree skills into practice in a real club environment - supporting growth in local football and building impressive CV experience along the way.
💼 What's Included?
As well as your club placement, you’ll be part of a Learning & Development Programme run by industry experts, with a mix of online and in-person sessions designed to support your professional growth.
The programme has been carefully designed to remove the barriers that often prevent students from volunteering:
📝 How Do I Get Invovled?
All placements will be available on the EdExPro platform via the BUCS website from 1st October. To apply, you will need to create a short video profile - which can then be used to apply for multiple roles.
