Academic Societies create and develop communities at LJMU in which every student feels they belong, feel supported, and feel respected. Those involved in Academic Societies have the opportunity to develop crucial skills required for their future employability, enhance their personal development from learning how to manage teams, planning, and delivering activities to networking with external organisations.

JMSU would like to work with the students and departments to better support the development of Academic Societies therefore we have put a handy Academic Societies Toolkit and Social Media Digital Poster to help support your academic department in setting up academic societies.

This toolkit is designed to:

• Support staff in academic departments to understand how academic societies work.
• Encourage more students to join and/or set up new academic societies.
• Promote and celebrate the excellent work of current student-led societies.
