Communication & Marketing

Communication & Marketing is some of the most important parts of running a student group - ensuring that your members know what is going on is crucial to them getting involved!

This section will help you to edit your website, create events, message your members, and more.

Website

JMSU provides each group with its very own section of this website. Through this, you can view your members, create events, email your members, and more. To get administrator access, you must be a fully paid member of the group and a committee member. We will grant committee members access at the beginning of the new academic year, in August.

Please click on the button below to download a complete guide of the website tools and how to use them.

Posters, Banners, & Flyers

Banners, posters, and flyers are simple ways of getting your society out there. Although simple, don’t rely on them as the only way to publicise yourself as students can easily avoid them and they can be quite costly.

If you would like to advertise your events using posters and flyers, please consider the following guidelines:

  • All posters and flyers must clearly carry the name of the relevant society and carry the Students' Union logo. This logo must not be distorted or abridged in any way.
  • All posters must be approved by the Societies or Sports Co-ordinator before they are displayed.
  • All posters must be removed once the event has passed.
  • Members must clearly display student ID when giving out flyers.
  • All posters in a foreign language must be accompanied by an English translation.

Only designated notice boards are to be used for postering and permission must be sought from the relevant department first. Posters/flyers are not to be stuck on exterior walls, pillars, windows, or doors around the University nor on council property.
