Our Student Communities provide a platform for you to find other likeminded people at LJMU.
They are student-led groups that aim to empower others, help JMSU improve student experience, build a sense of belonging at university and to improve liberation, equality and inclusion.
Each community group hosts events, makes positive change, and most of all provides the opportunity for students to have fun at university.
Our communities are student led initiatives. If you don’t see one that you identify with, get in touch with us today so we can support you starting your own community group today.
Ethnically Diverse Community Leader
To me, representation means making sure that everyone feels seen and heard, no matter where they come from.
It is about giving people from different ethnic backgrounds the chance to share their stories, and to feel like they are truly a part of the university community.
Postgraduate Community Leader
I believe that it is important to make sure everyone’s voices are heard.
After talking with a few of my friends, I’ve realised that there is quite a lot of change that needs to happen for postgraduate students, so I applied as a way to open up discussion for these changes and to hear other voices to see what other changes need to be made.
Disabled and Neurodiverse Community Leader
As someone who is neurodiverse as I suffer with ADHD and struggle with my mental health, I wanted to support people who are in a similar position and help them access the help I was fortunate to get to allow me to carry on with university.
I want to help those suffering in silence and get their voices heard.
International Community Leader
I am most excited about raising the profile of mature students both within the Students Union and the university.I would like to create meaningful and sustainable structures so that mature students can effect positive change at an institutional level.
