JMSU Elections 2025

December 2024 - March 2025

JMSU Student Officer Elections run each year by cross campus to elect four Student Officers to lead the organisation. Students can nominate themselves from December to stand as one of the four roles available:

  • President
  • Vice President Education
  • Vice President Activities
  • Vice President Community and Wellbeing

Once nominations close in January those standing become candidates for the positions and can campaign for votes to be elected in as an Officer in March.

Did you know that, as an elected officer, you will become a Trustee of JMSU?

All elected officers will become Trustees of JMSU, and act as legal guardians of the charity, they have the ultimate legal responsibility for keeping the organisation focused on its purpose and directing the strategy.

They also have financial oversight, are responsible for resources, and are expected to ensure the organisation stays within the law as well as maximising the relationship with the University for the benefit of the Charity and its beneficiaries.
