On Friday 22nd May we held our 5th Rate Your Landlord Awards evening at the Hilton Hotel at Liverpool One by Liverpool's dockside.
The Awards were attended by a diverse selection of individuals and representatives from accommodation providers across the city, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Student Homes, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Guild of Students.
The evening got off to a great start, by a performance from Liverpool John Moores University students, Lois & Bea Frost, who entertained the audience with their take on songs by artists including Sam Smith and Corrine Bailey-Rae. The Awards evening then kicked off with speeches from LiverpoolSU Vice President Community Engagement and host for the evening, Dan Cole, followed by Ed Naylor, Student Accommodation Manager at LJMU, and Piers Telemacque, NUS Vice President (Society and Citizenship) and our guest of honour for the evening.
With over 3,100 responses this year it was a close call in some categories but LiverpoolSU is pleased to announce the following winners:

Congratulations to all of those who were shortlisted and thank you to those who took part in the process. This awards evening and results announcement is only the start of the Rate Your Landlord process. Over the Summer, key staff from LiverpoolSU will be visiting housing providers to give them an individual breakdown of their results and then asking for an action plan to be developed following student feedback. This action plan will then be regularly monitored and in 2016 we'll be awarding one of these providers with the Improvement Impact award at the launch of the 2016 awards next year.
