Student Volunteering Week 2025
Student Volunteering Week 2025 is coming soon! From Monday 10th to Friday 14th February, we’ll have a range of events and activities taking place across campus, all focused on Volunteering, its benefits, and how you can get involved.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community and give your CV a skills-boost, but recent government statistics have shown that only 24% of adults in the UK have taken part in regular, informal volunteering.
At JMSU, we are proud to have such a high number of active LJMU students engaging in volunteering, but there is always room for more! Head down to one of our many events to find out about our current opportunities and how volunteering could benefit you AND the wider community.
National Student Volunteering Week 2025 also gives us the chance to say thank you to, and celebrate, our volunteers and amazing voluntary organisations who we continue to partner with.
From free lunch at our Volunteering Fair, to one off volunteering opportunities and Valentine’s Day card making to brighten up someone’s day in the community – we have something for everyone!

6th Feb – Come and start the Valentine’s Day celebrations early at Byrom Street’s Feel Fab Feb & Valentine's Day Volunteering Craft activity Help brighten up someone's day and send Valentine’s Day messages and cards to local community local community members via our charity partner hospices. We’ll also have insight activity from Voice Team, doughnut giveaways, and opportunities to sign up to a host of volunteering activities! Booking a place is encouraged but feel free to just drop in.
11th Feb – Allotment Volunteering Activity Join LJMU’s Sustainability team and get to work on one of the LJMU on-campus allotments. LJMU have some thriving allotment spaces that are in need of student volunteering to keep the space alive and kicking! This is your chance to have an impact! Sign up now as we have limited spaces available.
11th Feb – JMSU Sustainability Council - Are you passionate about Sustainability and ready to help JMSU and LJMU tackle a host of projects and initiatives across campus - then come and hear about how to get involved! Food and refreshments will be provided. Learn about the JMSU Sustainability agenda and upcoming volunteering opportunities and projects. Sign up now as we have limited spaces available.
12th Feb JMSU Volunteering Fair - Over 60 Charity partners and Voluntary organisations will be in SLB showcasing opportunities for students, alongside a free food truck and giveaways.
13th Feb Valentine’s Day Volunteering craft activity Help brighten up someone's day and send Valentine’s Day messages and cards to local community local community members via our charity partner hospices. We’ll also have insight activity from Voice Team, doughnut giveaways, and opportunities to sign up to a host of volunteering activities! Booking a place is encouraged but feel free to just drop in.
