Welcome to JUSST! We are your Liverpool John Moores University Snowsports Team.

Experienced Skier or boarder /Après enthusiast / Total Beginner - This is the society for you!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn to ski or snowboard why not come along to our lessons or join our annual ski trip.

About Us

At JUSST we welcome all, whether you've mastered the craft, an après addict or you have never touched snow before; we're a ski and board club for everyone! So, if you're looking to take up racing, find your feet, or make friends for life, JUSST is the club for you!

Every year the mountains call, we swap the books for beanies, hop onto the M6 and head southbound to spend a week like no other. 

This year's holiday will be announced very soon, so keep your eyes peeled...All trip information will be shared on Instagram and Whatsapp.

The race teams will be competing in the Kings Northern League, which are a relay race format, each team races another team through a dual slalom. We also race at BUDS, the biggest dry slope event of the year consisting of 70 other Unis, competing in racing and freestyle. You won't want to miss it! Fear not spectators, you don't need to race to enjoy the excitement of the races.

Our regular training sessions take place at Stoke Dry Slope and occasionally you will get a feel for the snow at The Chill Factore, Manchester's very own snowdome. Rental equipment is provided as well as great freestyle and recreational facilities.

Wednesday night socials are a great way to get involved and make some amazing friends. Each week will have a specific theme, organised by our social sec. Prizes for best dressed throughout the year to be won. All information on socials will be posted on our Instagram and WhatsApp. Socials will consist of Liverpool's best student bars, Irish bars, and clubs. Each week will be different. Expect the best PRES and parties, our unforgettable Christmas Snowball and some more amazing events to come...

Training

Every Wednesday 2:15pm - Meet at the Student Life building (Arrive Back approx. 7:30pm)

Regular Stoke sessions will take place on a Wednesday afternoon, keep up to date on our socials for upcoming plans this year. Transport is provided however those who can drive will be eligible for a reduced priced ticket. Please get in touch with us to learn more. Tickets for Stoke sessions will be shared in the WhatsApp group chat or can be accessed via the JMSU website, on a first come first served basis (tickets sell out quickly!!) Ticket release is Sunday or Monday morning. All equipment can be hired for FREE, with a purchased ticket, you will however require ski socks or thick socks, long sleeve top or jumper, appropriate trousers or joggers and a pair of gloves. We would advise a minimum of 3 lessons for beginners. Our first session will be a taster session for those interested in joining the society more information about this at fresher’s fair. This will include 2 hours of skiing or snowboarding lessons or free-ski followed by a freshers event and the first social of the year. 

We are also seeking new racers to join our unstoppable team. Our team helped Liverpool win the league last year! Experience in racing isn't required to join the team, get in touch with us via socials if you are interested. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Each year we compete in KINGS which consists of four rounds and then a grand Final at the end of the year. We also compete in BUDS once a year which is held in Edinburgh on the UK’s largest dry slope!

If you are interested in lessons, freeskiing, or race training then here is our training run down:

Training/Free Ski costs £10-14. This includes transport, insurance, ski equipment, and slope hire.

Lessons cost slightly more ranging from £14-18.

Prices for Free Ski and Lessons are dependent on how many people book on, so make sure to bring your mates!

Every week: Wednesday or Thursday - 8pm till late

Like many Sports teams and societies, we host socials once a week. We have some amazing socials planned for this year we can't wait to share with you. Each week will be a different theme so keep an eye on the Instagram and the WhatsApp. As per tradition our first social of the year will be White Tee, all you need is a white T-shirt and a sharpie, hope to see you there. We'll take on some of Liverpool best student bars, Irish bars and clubs with student deals you can't beat. We have a number of events planned this year including the Christmas Snowball, Pre-trip raffle, charity fundraisers, a day at the races and many more to be announced. 

Annual Ski Trip

Each year JUSST takes to the mountains for a week you won't forget. Expect plenty of skiing and snowboarding, partying on the mountain at après followed by some unforgettable nights out in the resort. With the help of NUCO travel company this will be the biggest and best trip JUSST has ever done. Guaranteed to be the BEST ski trip of your life. 

No kit no worries ski/snowboard equipment can be hired through the booking page, lessons are also available to book on. Maybe this is your first ski holiday or maybe it’s your 20th time in the mountains you won't want to miss out!

We will be making our epic return to the mountains in the Easter of 2025 🏔🥂

From the 12th April - 19th April, LJMU and thousands of other university students will enjoy 6 days of skiing, snowboarding, après and all out partying! We also have many other events planned to keep you entertained😉🍻.

General ticket release is 3rd October at 2PM- £150 deposit is required to secure your place.
