We are a charity who support children with brain tumours and their families by providing mental health - clinical psychhology support. We opened our 3rd centre at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in June 2023 and we have managed to get the waiting lists down from 6 months to 2 weeks, 2 weekly slots for staff on the oncology team to access mental health support and set up sibling and parent/carer groups.
The charity was set up after our founders lost their son Tom, aged 9, 7 months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Whilst they had NHS physical provision they had no mental health support and they vowed that no family would ever have to go through the mental trauna that they did alone. They also have two other children. They are still very much involved with the charity and set this up in Tom's name.
Can you spare an hour for a bucket collection at Liverpool Lime Street Train Station on Saturday 21 December 2024. We will be there from 1000-1400. Should be nice and Christmassy and will support a local charity who support children with brain tumours and their families by providing mental health, clinical psychology, support.
