Our helicopters and HEMS response vehicles operate 365 days a year, with highly skilled specialist doctors and HEMS paramedics on board providing enhanced pre-hospital care and hospital transfers to patients across the entire North West each year – an area covering 5,500 square miles and over 8 million people.
Since we launched in 1999, the charity has been called to over 24,500 missions across the region, with the service called out an average of three times a day. Each year we must raise over £9.5 million to remain operational. We receive NO government or NHS funding – it’s only thanks to the generosity of people like you that we can continue flying to save lives.
You can help support our lifesaving mission as an Education Speaker (in schools) in Merseyside!
You'd be joining at an exciting time as we've just launched our education presentation and are already receiving booking requests from primary, secondary, and further education schools.
You'll deliver information about our charity including our key message that we receive no Government or NHS funding, the charity's latest developments and initiatives, and information about ways schools can support us after the presentation.
It's an ad hoc and flexible role as and when we have bookings through the year. We can reimburse car mileage and/or public transport costs in line with our volunteer expenses policy, and you'll receive training, shadowing opportunities and support from our Community Fundraising team.
It's a great chance to gain experience, meet new people, build your CV especially your networking and public speaking skills. All whilst raising vital funds and awareness for North West Air Ambulance Charity.
