Nominate Now

These are instructions on how to submit your nomination in the Student Officer Elections - please note this will only work from Wednesday 1st November 2023.

If you have any questions about this process, please email: elections@ljmu.ac.uk

1. First you need to be signed into your account on our website - ensure you use your LJMU account as we must be able to confirm you are a student. If you have any trouble logging in, email us at elections@ljmu.ac.uk.

2. Once signed in, go to the homepage at www.jmsu.co.uk and hover over your name in the top right hand corner.

3. Click on 'Your Account/Profile' on the drop down.

4. Click on 'My Nominations' in the left hand menu.

5. You will see the four positions available in the Student Officer Elections listed. Click 'Submit' on your chosen position.

6. This page shows you how long you have until nominations close, responsibilities of the role you are putting yourself foward for and additional information from us (make sure to click "show" on the "Responsibilities" and "Additional Information" headings.) You need to provide your name as you would like it to appear on the ballot paper and your manifesto. You also have the option to provide a photo of yourself.

Your manifesto

Your manifesto is the most important element in your election campaign. It explains to students why you want to represent them and why they should vote for you. Your manifesto is what they see when they come to vote so it is important you take time to plan, write and perfect what you want to say - especially as you only have 250 words.

Within your 250 word manifesto we recommend you include up to three ideas for what you would work on if you were elected. We suggest a headline and then a summary explaining why it is important.

Alongside your ideas, remember that students need to know a bit about you, and why you are the best person to represent them. If you have any questions, or would like any further support, please contact the Elections Team: elections@ljmu.ac.uk

You will then receive an email telling you whether we have accepted your nomination and if there are any additional tasks you need to complete.
