JMSU Advice

Get in touch with our advice team when it comes to your mental health and wellbeing.

We will be able to chat with you about any concerns you have and point you in the right direction.

Wellbeing advisors

The Wellbeing Advisors offer advice on issues you may be having within university, whether it be mental health and wellbeing related issues, university concerns, struggles with settling in to a new way of life or any general worries.

They will steer you in the right direction so you can get the best help possible. They offer self-help resources that offer support on issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness and more.

Also, they offer wellbeing journals that stores all the right information, contacts, and services all in one place.

Student Advice and Wellbeing (SAW)

LJMU we have a dedicated department called SAW, who specialise in advice and wellbeing.

JMSU and specifically our advice team, work closely with SAW on everything from Wellbeing Week, safety policies, support on fees and money, bereavement support, settling in to Uni life and accommodation, disabled students, international students, care leavers, young adult carers, estranged students and even offer advice to parents/guardians of students, as well as many more important services.

Mental Health Advisory Team

The Mental Health Advisory team comprises of registered professionals who offer specific mental health support.

They provide one-to-one support and advice to students who have some difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing.

External Mental Health Services

  • Togetherall is an award-winning online mental health and wellbeing service designed to help people get support, take control, and feel better. It provides 24/7 peer and professional support plus a range of wellbeing tools to help people self-manage their mental wellbeing.
  • SilverCloud – an online tool to help resolve any issues you may have.
  • Hub of Hope - The Hub of Hope is the UK’s leading mental health support database. It is provided by national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place for the first time. 
  • Students against Depression - Students Against Depression provides you with a calm environment and the resources to help you find a way forward - a website offering advice, information and guidance to those affected by low mood, depression and suicidal thinking. 
  • Every Mind Matters -The campaign aims to support everyone to feel more confident in taking action to look after their mental health and wellbeing by promoting a range of self-care actions.
