My name is Cosmin Ionescu, and I am running for Vice President of Education at LJMU because of my passion for our academic learning experience.  

My experience and skills 

I've been a dedicate master's course representative for the past year, where consistently I advocate for student needs, organized study groups, and liaised between students and faculty. Through this role, I have honed my communications, leadership and problem-solving skills, ideal for representing our educational interests. I have worked closely with teachers along the year to enhance our academic experience while ensuring every student thrives in class. 

My plan is  

1. Improve curriculum relevance 

I aim to work with the faculty and students to update curriculum activities by incorporating industry-relevant skills through workshops and dedicated hands-on activities within two semesters. This will ensure our education will remain current and valuable in the job market.  

2. Foster inclusive learning environments  

I aim to implement initiative that supports underrepresented students, with mentorship programs and inclusive workshops, within next year. Progress will be tracked trough participation rates and feedback from students.  

3. Develop ethical AI learning environments 

I aim to develop AI ethics into our academic learning experience by collaborating with the faculty to create relevant training sessions with specific industry relevance. By the end of my mandate, students will have at least 1 workshop.  

Together we can transform our educational environment, empowering all of us to achieve our potential.
