Making Education Work for Everyone
As a student with ASD, I understand the barriers neurodivergent and disabled students face in higher education. I’m running for Vice President of Education to ensure teaching, learning and resources at LJMU are truly inclusive for all.
What I Will Do for You:
⁃ Improve Accessibility & Support
I will push for lecture recordings, flexible assignments, and clear learning materials to become standard, ensuring every student can thrive.
⁃ AI Workshops
I will introduce workshops on Artificial Intelligence in education for both students and staff. AI is the future of the workplace - we must embrace it, not fear it.
⁃ Modernising Exams & Assessments
I will advocate for fewer closed-book exams and more practical, open-book, and skills-based assessments, ensuring a fairer and more realistic approach to evaluating student knowledge.
⁃ Stronger Representation & Communication
I’ll work with Course Reps to ensure your voices shape university decisions and push for simpler, clearer academic support systems.
⁃ Champion Neurodivergent & Disabled Students
I will establish a Neurodivergent & Disabled Students’ Forum to ensure those with lived experience directly influence university policies.
⁃ Lead Campaigns for Lasting Change
With JMSU’s support, I’ll push for mandatory neurodiversity training for both staff and students, better lecturer training, and truly inclusive teaching methods.
As Vice President of Education, I’ll put inclusivity at the heart of every decision. Vote Zac Meadowcroft for VP Education!
